I love the feeling of mud.
From the first time I immersed my fingers in clay – I was hooked. I’ve been playing with mud ever since. It’s silkiness and strength invite my hands to sculpt an object of my imagination. The transformation of raw glaze minerals into glass through firing creates a permanence that is unearthed through continuous exploration.
As a ceramic artist, I’ve worked in studios in Canada and Chile. Originally making functional pieces on the wheel, I now create more whimsical objects that combine hand building, throwing, carving and prose.
I have had the fortune to live in many places – Colombia, Nicaragua, Chile, Australia, and Brazil – and to work and travel throughout Latin America, Africa and Asia.
I am happiest in untamed and wild environments. My work is influenced by nature and the many places I have encountered.
